Understanding Your Therapy Reimbursement with Mentaya

Has your therapist submitted your first claim in Mentaya? Here's what you should expect.

Great news! Your therapist submitted your first claim in Mentaya, which means you're one step closer to getting money back for your therapy sessions. We understand insurance can be confusing, so we'll set clear expectations about the process.

Claim Processing Time:

  • Claims can take anywhere from 1 week to 3 months. (Note: The first claim may take a little longer, but future claims usually process more quickly!)

What to Expect from Your Insurance Company:

  • Communication: If you receive any communication from your insurance company about your claim, feel free to forward it to our support team at [email protected]. We're happy to review it for you.

  • Tracking: If it's been less than 3 weeks since your claim was submitted and you don't see it in your insurance portal yet, that's normal. It can take some time for them to receive it.

How You'll Get Reimbursed:

  1. Meeting Your Deductible: You'll need to meet your deductible first before you start receiving reimbursements. You still need to submit claims in order for them to get applied to your deductible.

  2. Reimbursement timeline: Once you reach your deductible, your insurance company will send the reimbursement with the payment method you have on file with them (direct deposit or via mailed check).

  3. Payment Arrival: Reimbursements typically arrive by check in the mail unless you have direct deposit set up with your insurance provider. Please ensure you have the correct payment method on file with insurance to avoid payments being sent to the wrong address or bank account.

    In some cases, insurance policies may require that payments be sent directly to the Billing Provider (Mentaya). Should this occur, we will inform you upon receiving the reimbursement and request your preferred payment method for direct deposit.

Claim Resubmission:

Sometimes, claims need to be resubmitted for various reasons. Here at Mentaya, we handle that for you at no additional cost. We'll resubmit the claim, follow up with your insurance company, and only reach out if we need your action.
